User photos and videos use private R2 (no public file URL). Photos auto-delete within about 24 hours. Videos stay until you delete them. fal.ai gets a temporary photo link (~1 hour).

Are my uploads public?
No. Creation photos and generated videos use a private R2 bucket without public file URLs. Playback and download go through the studio after ownership checks.
How long are photos kept?
Uploaded creation photos are automatically deleted within about 24 hours of upload.
How long are videos kept?
Generated videos stay until you delete the task in My videos. There is no automatic video expiry schedule.
Who processes the photo for generation?
fal.ai (and its model providers) receive your photo via a temporary link that expires after about one hour, plus preset text prompts.
Does deleting a task remove files?
After you confirm deletion, the studio removes related photos and videos from its storage, then removes the task from your list when cleanup succeeds.
Are homepage demos the same as my files?
No. Public example and reference videos on the marketing site are stored separately from private user media.
Does Studio promise zero provider retention?
No. fal.ai retention is governed by its own terms and privacy policy and is outside our 24-hour photo deletion.
